This is one of my summer favorites as dessert or recovery from along workout.
I use Dandi Blend as a coffee alternative, it’s a dandelion-chicory mix that makes a nice smoothie coffee-like hot drink or can be added to smoothies for a little extra flavor.
makes 2 big servings
2 cups of water, coconut water or non dairy milk
2 TBSP cocoa powder
2 TBSP Dandi Blend or 1/4 cup of coffee
4 dates or 1 TBSP maple syrup
1-2 scoops if your favorite chocolate protein powder ( I recommend Vega Performance Protein)
a bunch of ice cubes
Blend in your mixer until smooth and frosty. Add more water if it is too thick and blend until smooth.
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS: 1 TBSP Udo’s Oil (or other omega oil or ground flax meal) You can also use coconut oil for a high calorie/fat boost, 1 TBSP chia seeds, small chunk or turmeric root or 1 tsp ground powder.
