5-Ingredient Grain Free Chickpea Blondies

I came across this recipe recently and realized that I’ve never made a sweet out of chickpeas! You can use canned or fresh cooked beans for this recipe.

Preheat oven to 350º

Prepare a brownie style pan for baking


1 can or 2 cups cooked, drained and rinsed no-salt chickpeas

1/2 cup almond butter

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/3 cup chocolate chips

*optional add ins:

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp cinnamon


Place chickpeas in a food processor and pulse until blended. Scare the sides and add the almond butter, maple syrup and baking powder. Blend until creamy, scraping the sides to combine all ingredients. Transfer mixture to a bowl and fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour into a brownie style pans, spreading into an even layer.

Bake for approx 25 min until slightly browned on the edges.

Allow to cool and cut into desired size.
